About MathOtter

Hi! I'm David Pickut, an engineer and educator. I've spent more than 1,000 hours as a volunteer - tutoring and teaching the fundamentals of math and algebra to adults pursuing a GED .

I created MathOtter based on that experience. Sometimes, adults catching up on math and algebra foundation skills just need more practice when learning skills they haven't used for years. If a student gets stuck on a topic, multiple problem examples and step-by-step explanations of solutions and techniques can be helpful. And, students get tired of watching videos and redoing the same problems in books or on pdf practice sheets. They want a variety of practice problems.

Finished a video lesson yesterday on solving inequalities? Use MathOtter to do 10, 20 or more practice problems on that topic!

If you want to improve your basic math and algebra skills to help you get your GED — you're in the right place. I think you will find MathOtter helpful. I hope you will give it a try and give me some feedback.

Please note that this app is in the test stage at this point. I've spent hundreds of hours developing it but I don't know if there's a market for it. I'm hoping to get a few hundred test users to try it (for free) and give me some feedback. If enough people tell me it's helpful, I'll take it to full production. Intent is that it will be $5.00 for 500 "Show Me How" AI assistance requests, NO SUBSCRIPTION REQUIRED.

(I wish I could make it free, but the AI assistance piece has a cost.)
